TBLA’S CLARIFICATION
PT. Tunas Baru Lampung Tbk (TBLA or the Company) response to Greenpeace report titled “FINAL COUNTDOWN” (September 2018)
Upon having studied sub part of Greenpeace report on Sungai Budi Group / PT. Tunas Baru Lampung Tbk (Page 140 – 143), the Company would like to make the following comments:
1. Greenpeace report suggested that TBLA did not give out any response prior to it being published. In regards to this, the Company would like to note that Greenpeace has never approached TBLA for any clarifications.
2. The content of this Greenpeace report concerning Sungai Budi Group / PT. Tunas Baru Lampung Tbk had already been previously published by other NGO, and having gone through it, the Company found no new substances being presented here. TBLA has previously issued few formal responses (available in the Company’s website), pertaining to the allegations and misinformation contained in the past and this current publication.

3. Few clarifications in regards to some of the allegations in the report:
3.1. TBLA never changes PT. DGS or PT. SUJ operational licenses.
3.2. In the oil palm sector, the Company’s present business orientation is more focused on the domestic market. This allowed TBLA to actively participate in supporting our government’s program of meeting the nation’s demand for high quality, affordable cooking oil. As such:
TBLA’s CPO sales revenue only made up 5% of total revenue. Most of the cpo produced is being used to feed the Company’s downstream cooking oil production, which then sold domestically.
3.3. TBLA also agrees on the development of sustainable palm oil policy, where the Company has adopted and implemented Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) guidelines. Several of TBLA’s estates have already obtained ISPO certification.
Hopefully the above clarifies the Company’s position and we are open for further enquiries / discussion as always. Thank you
